We are seeking to employ a full-time qualified Maintenance Fitter, Turner & Machinist to join our team at our Stainless Steel Workshop. Your role will require you to work mostly with stainless steel tank fabrication machines and tools providing you with a varied range of tasks. An advanced knowledge and all round ability to carry out a variety of fitter, turner & machinist tasks with flexibility and willingness to learn is preferred.

Main duties include:

  • Set up and adjust machines and equipment.
  • Fit and assemble parts, tools.
  • Dismantle faulty tools and assemblies and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Set up and/or operate hand and machine tools.
  • Be a part of installations, expansions and new projects as they develop.

In this role you will be responsible for general mechanical maintenance that includes mechanical repair on a day to day basis as well as ensuring downtime is minimized. In addition, you will develop and implement systems that will maximise the efficiency of and minimise cost of utilities. You will also recommend and develop initiatives that will enhance productivity, efficiency and profitability of the plant. Your work will be challenging, and the successful applicant will be required to work in industrial manufacturing to meet strict maintenance deadlines. You may be required to work on-site in the Riverland area and Intrastate occasionally. 

Experience and Qualifications Required:

Our site supervisors are responsible for the installation and erecting of these sites.
You will supervise and be a part of the general construction team to ensure all works are undertaken in an efficient and safe manner whilst all our, and our clients’ policies and procedures are upheld.

Crane Operators

JOB SUMMARY

JMA Engineering supply a broad range of machines and services to meet the diverse needs of the Riverland and surrounding regions.  Our lifting machines are currently

22T Franna 50T Tadano and the 100T Liebherr as well as various Manitous, Truck Cranes and Forklifts.

We aim to employ staff that can operate a variety of these machines to ensure we are able to supply lifting services to our construction crews and community members and businesses that hire our equipment and operators .

Crane operators are responsible for completing daily safety checks, driving to sites, completing Risk assessments and liaising with customers and or site supervisors before work is undertaken.  A high regard to safety is essential for all our staff.

Crane operators are responsible for ensuring JMA is portrayed in a positive light,

Accurate documentation for all jobs in regard to safety checks and billing is essential for record keeping.  Flexibility and the ability to work on all machine types including areas of the business (workshop and onsite) are required of all Crane Operators.

QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS:

ESSENTIAL

DESIRABLE

·         Current High Risk Licence (min C6)

·         Dogman ticket

·         Forklift licence

·         Drivers Licence min HC

·         Construction White Card

·         Full Australian working rights

·         Open Crane Licence

·         (MC Licence advantage)

·         First Aid Certificate

·         Elevated Work Platforms

·         Vaccination as per Government / Client guidelines

·         Ability to work away from area

·         min 3 years experience

 

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand and undertake basic quality control/assurance procedures including the ability to
    recognise basic quality deviations/faults.
  • Follow safe work practices and report workplace hazards.
  •  Co-ordinates work in a team environment or works individually under general supervision.
  • Safe efficient operation of mobile cranes
  • Crane truck operation
  • Dogman and Rigging activities
  • Equipment upkeep & cleanliness of both machine and operator
  • Understand the chain of responsibility
  • Develop and communicate lift plans
  • Driving to site, setting up equipment according to operators’ manual
  • Daily safety inspections
  • Ability to calculate loads
  • Lift and lower with precision.
  • Comply with all JMA and client policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Onsite installation
  • Work in accordance with standard operating procedures, WHS Act 2012 (SA), and established criteria.

ESSENTIAL ONGOING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Able to accept responsibilities and accountability for actions
  • Attend / complete mandatory training as required
  • Know and operate within the policies and procedures of JMA Engineering and customers when onsite.
  • Maintain knowledge of and act in accordance with the Crane Operators Manual and manual for all equipment.
